NY Judge Dismisses Lawsuit: Work-Life Balance Is Not The Employers’ Responsibility

?Judge Loretta Preska took a lot of heat for rejecting an EEOC class-action claim that Bloomberg L.P. (NY) discriminates against pregnant women. According to the 2007 lawsuit, 603 female employees took maternity leave from Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s financial/media company over a period of six years. Seventy-eight claimed they were demoted , excluded from other job opportunities or took pay cuts after telling the company they were pregnant or returning from maternity leave.
