For me the highlight of the event (though there were many highlights) was a talk given by Owen Barder of AidInfo. He spoke of his vision for a "cloud of aid information". As an aside, yesterday at the recruitment conference I met a recruiter who said his sister and her husband were both laid off from separate companies, supposedly blue-chip Minneapolis employers. And so it is that earlier this year I did the video post below on Taleo's acquisition of Vurv about which I received nastygrams from apparent Taleo fans. Fast forward a few months and Taleo's market cap has fallen so fast and furious - granted in a bear market - that its entire value is scarcely above what it paid for Vurv.
